As we rejoice in the gift of this new day, so may the light of your presence, O God, set our hearts on fire with love for you; now and forever. Amen.

Blessing 2 for 2014

This was John's favourite 'party trick' with each of our children when they were little. They loved doing it and evidently felt completely safe. I always think it is a wonderful image of trust - trust that is vital to a secure sense of balance and the freedom to live life to the full.

Blessing 1 for 2014

This photograph was taken during our summer holiday in Northumbria last year. Whilst I was ill, I often imagined myself walking across to Lindisfarne following the posts of the Pilgrim's Path. It was such a joy finally to be able to do it with bare feet revelling in the feeling of the sand and mud between my toes. With the sky reflected in the water lying across the sands, the sense of spaciousness was awesome, even bewildering. No chance of getting lost, though, with the clear line of posts to guide us.
